Day 12: Let's not talk football

Like the title says, lets not talk football. Bafana Bafana are not out yet!

Anyway, yesterday, after a busy and frustrating day at work I came home to the sounds of Katrina preparing dinner. That's when it happened. I got into this funny mood and decided to bake a bread. I had nagged my mom for a recipe for quite a while and she had sent it to me (finally) just a few days ago.

First, the reason I wanted to make my own bread is that even though people say bread makes you fat, its not true. Bread is quite healthy for you, especially rye bread and such. It also counts towards your daily starch intake, which I have actually had less of in main meals since I started this challenge. Obviously you don't want to overdo it and being home made, has non of the other junk in it like preservatives and extra processed starches.

Anyway, I set off mixing flour and maple syrup and yeast and such (Recipe is still a secret) and kneaded and kneaded and kneaded and about 30 minutes hard work and 2 hours of waiting and baking, I made this bread:

I need to refined a few things and have some questions and if my mom permits, I will post the recipe here.

That's all from my "avoid the world cup topic" post.
