So, it is Bank holiday weekend (public holiday for everyone else) and Katrina and myself are off to Wales. This means I wont have my plan up nor will be able to submit a post on Sunday for the weigh day. I will catch up as soon as I can when we return.
Also, as this is my first trip into another country in the UK, I will submit a post or two on my findings. We are planning to head of to see the ruins of Raglan Castle, then of to see the Brecon Beacons. We might also pop into Hay-on-Wye, the booktown of the UK. It has 30 bookshops!
Anyway, I am off on my holiday. See you soon!

Weigh Day 12: The restart of the exercise
So, last week I finally had time to start up the gym and football again. All I can say is that I was damn sore for most of the week. It is amazing how quickly your body gets used to not doing much.
But, it all paid off. I have managed to lose another kg, putting me that little bit closer to my target.
The only concern is, that at this rate I will not make my goal. I think I will have to re-evaluate certain things in the plan and maybe try to do a few weeks of intensive weight loss to help me along. My main concern, I think, are still my portion sizes. Even though they are smaller than what they used to be, I think they are still bigger than the average persons as well as the odd seconds doesn't help.
On a side not, I love peaches and nectarines. Not only do they taste great, but they remind me of my childhood and that big ass peach tree we used to have. :)
Well that is all for now, still quite busy and hectic at work!

Weigh Day 11: Struggling on...
Yet again a week without any real useful updates and or any progress. Luckily I am not slipping back, but maintaining my weight nicely. I am quite proud of this, especially as I have had no time to go the gym this week, nor did I play football. With that, we cheated and deviated one night on the plan to have "Fish and Chips".
I know that is not the end of the world, nor should it be bad to have the odd treat, but that combined with the no exercise, meant that I did not lose any more weight. I am however hoping that even though we have tight deadlines again, I will not be required to stay too late at work this week and can start focusing on this blog and my weight again.
I will leave it at that, as the only other thing I could bore you with is particle effects and bugs with cameras and the like.
Hope this week will go smoother.

Weigh Day 10: Less or more sameness
Well here is the belated "Weigh Day" post. Last week had been hectic with me being stuck at work later every day, including friday. At least we didn't have to come in on the weekend and I could rather spend it out shopping with an Italian, trying authentic Italian dishes and then trying new food at home while relaxing. That pretty much sums up my week and weekend.
I have however still managed, with the help of Katrina, to stick to the food plan. Sadly, the gym and the football pitch haven't seen me in over a week. I blame this for the lack of weight loss. Luckily I have managed to keep my current weight.
I am thinking this week will be me much of the same, I hope not, but it would seem it could be. But as mentioned in the "Weekly Plan" section, I will post more things on Saturday.
Should I still have some loyal followers, thanks guys!

P.s. Btw, Surath, a colleague, posted this real good article in a post last week, which I think deserves another mention here: http://uk.lifestyle.yahoo.com/food-drink/top-10-dieting-blunders-blog-1-real-buzz.html

Weigh Day 9: More weight loss! Woop!
So it is the ninth "Weigh Day". I have been going for nearly 10 weeks, with varying results, but I finally feel I have found the right track and we are just progress from here on onwards. I have lost another kg, totalling a total of 6 kgs lost. If I continue this way, I am well on target to meet my goal.
I contribute this to the weekly plan Katrina and myself have started to incorporate into our daily lives. I am really amazed at how well it works. We simply plan ahead and cook and eat only anything on the plan. Sure, we are tempted to eat other things, but generally we are full enough to simply shrug those urges off. The trick I think is to make the dishes exciting, new and tasty and so far I have not been disappoint. In 2 weeks of trying new dishes, I was only let down by one and I believe that is due to our griddle pan. Don't take shortcuts with kitchen equipment! My mom always says so and I normally listen (To be fair, this was a present given to us :))!
Anyway, enough about me, lets talk about someone else, namely my friend Deric. I am happy to announce that Deric seems to have been inspired by me, even if it only was a little and wishes to start his own diet from tomorrow. I am not sure if he will make a blog or even will want to advertise his weight publicly, like I have, but I am happy that he is willing to try to be healthier and lose a little weight. Proud of you buddy and I will be there to help you every step of the way!
Other than that, not much to tell. With work being busy and Starcraft2 being released, I don't seem to have much time for anything else lately!
Anyway, have a great week!

Weigh Day 8: Yet another busy week but plan sticks
Firstly, sorry for the lack of updates. I have been extremely busy this week trying to get my schedule back on track. Sadly, do to working late and other issues, even this hasn't managed to be reinstated.
I am however proud to announce that Katrina and myself have managed to stick to our eating plan throughout the week, with exception of Friday night, where we had to make pizza's instead of the mentioned tuna meal. The reason for this is that her friend Tina came to visit who is a vegetarian.
Other than that, we have stuck to the plan. All the meals have been great. Some a little better than others, but all in all brilliant. I am not sure whether it is because of the change in what we eat or because those recipes are genuinely great.
Also, I am happy to announce that Katrina like prawns after all. Having avoided them for 21 years, she has managed to actually find out she really likes them and is even willing to try more seafood! WOOP!
We also have planned the next schedule and I have posted it in the 'Weekly Link' section.
Oh yes, this is supposed to be a Weigh day post, woops. Sadly I have only lost about half a kg this week. I think it is due to the lack of exercise. So I will work on that this week.
Well that is all for now, I will promise to update the blog more regularly and give feedback on anything weight related. I am also thinking of publishing more posts not really related to me losing weight, but just general stuff I wish to share.

The new weekly plan
Katrina and myself have decided to do a weekly food plan. There are many reasons for doing one, especially when trying to lose weight. If you plan your week in advance, it makes sure you only, or should I say mainly, eat healthy and the amounts you planned for. It also can save you money, as you know the exact quantities that you need and wont just buy on a whim.
The latter however is not always the case. It really depends on what the goal of you weekly plan is and in our case it was to eat healthy and lose weight.
The approach we took is to work on our goal and hence plan the week around healthy and 'light' meals. We split the day into 5 meal times. This is to constantly keep the body supplied with what it needs in small amounts. Not only is this good for your body, but also gets you used to eating smaller portions and to make things better we used it to combat the 5 a day issue!*
